Training Tips and Tricks

Here are a few tips and tricks you can use to help you in the guild. Unfortunately, this list seems to be getting shorter and shorter as things change...

Reducing stamina cost when getting reps - If you are having problems running out of stamina when getting reps, try reducing your guild stance. Often, you can still succeed in gld stance advance or forward, which will reduce the stamina you use with each move. Against critters, you can even leg them in order to stun them and keep them down, which can make things a little easier for you (Unless you are working on sweep or kneebash, which require the critter to be standing.).

Easier master reps with cheapshot - Get a haste 1 amulet, and you'll finish master reps much faster. This isn't as effective as it used to be, thanks to the new stamina requirements, but I figured I'd keep it up here anyways.

Web/paralyze/bind/stun - When you are webbed, paralyzed, or bound, your guild defense decreases by 50, and is decreased by 10 when stunned (when in gld stance offensive). There may be times when you are unable to succeed against a target, but a little bonus might make it possible. In gld stance guarded, the bonus will only be 40%, but it can still help.

Symbol of dreams - This used to make your MD 0, but was changed. Now it only subtracts 50 from your guild defense (When in gld stance offensive). Although it's much less useful than it used to be, it can still come in handy when the -50 will make a difference.

Doing windows in another guild - I mentioned this earlier in the guide too. If you get more than 10 window reps, you may want to make a run to a different guild and wipe windows there.

Scripting - I have never done this myself in the guild, but there is nothing wrong with it as long as you are at your computer. It can be very helpful, especially with stun maneuver tasks.

Webbing cloaks - Some cloaks were sold on the gnome airship that web you whenever you put them on. This subtracts 50 from your guild defense (When in gld stance offensive). The web doesn't last very long, so it is good for sweep reps (as well as cheapshot reps of course). It can be a very useful item for guild training, when your target is much higher level than you. They are attuned to the first person to wear them, but if that person raises it twice, the bond is broken.

Armor in hand - Whenever you take your armor off to do guild reps, keep it in your hand instead of putting it away. That way you won't forget to put it back on when you leave.

Stare skull - When using a stunning skull, use the verb "stare skull." Doing so will stun you and knock you to the floor. Using this verb instead of the others is useful for two reasons. First of all, it's good when getting STAND reps, because it saves you the time of having to lie down after each rep. But its main use, is that it can be done while you're in RT. This means that if you fail the maneuver, you don't have to wait until all your RT from it is gone before you can stun yourself again. Just wait until your RT is at 13 seconds or less (Beause the stun only lasts 14 seconds), and "stare skull." Yeah, it may only save you a few seconds each time, but when you are spending ages getting self stun reps, it REALLY adds up. The only slight problem with it, is people will give you funny looks, because when you do it, other people see this: "So and So suddenly screams and falls flat on his/her back!"
